Coast to Coast Baseball is holding tryouts and hitting camps next week.
At the tryout, the staff will evaluate players’ skills in four areas: hitting, fielding, arm strength and speed.
Since the summer of 2001, more than 3,000 athletes from 46 states have participated in the program. Alumni of the program currently compete collegiately and professionally.
Players who are accepted to the program may choose to represent the U.S.A. in competition in Puerto Rico or work with college coaches and pro scouts at a Camp and Showcase event held at an MLB spring training complex in Florida or Arizona.
The hitting camp is designed to help players improve hitting fundamentals and their mental approach at the plate.
The tryouts and hitting camps are open to players from age 10-18 and cost $40 each. The tryouts start at 10 a.m. and the hitting camp at 2 p.m.
To register, go to www.coasttocoastathletics.com or call 740-373-4455.
The events will be held Sunday at Kent State University, Monday at Premier Baseball Academy in Valley City, Tuesday at Bowling Green State University, Wednesday at Ohio University and Thursday at Champions Baseball Academy in Cincinnati.
