Collins two-hitter propels BL baseball

BELLEFONTAINE — Ben Logan pitcher Zane Collins hurled a two-hitter and struck out 12 batters to lead the way as the host Raiders defeated Urbana 5-0 in the opening round of Division II sectional play on Thursday.
The Raiders, who advance to play at Greenville today, scored single runs n the third and fifth innings, before adding three insurance runs in the sixth.
Collins, who threw a complete game, walked four batters and hit one.
Dustin Bowers had three hits and an RBI and Collins had a single, a sacrifice fly and two runs batted in to lead the Raiders offensively.
Mitch Coughlin added two hits, Kam Newland had a hit, a sacrifice bunt and an RBI and Keelyn Zell contributed a single.
The Raiders are now 13-15 on the season.
