Continental blanks Riverdale boys 3-0

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Continental shut out Riverdale 3-0 in a boys soccer match on Saturday afternoon.
The visiting Pirates got a goal from Joey Swagger 20 minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead.
Dallas Geckle and Tyler Ruse added tallies for Continental in the second half.
Riverdale, which falls to 1-8-1 on the season, got seven saves from goalkeeper Jackson Hankins.
The Falcons were outshot 10-3 in the game.
Jimmy Fox and Kip Elwood had 2 steals and 4 intercepts each for the Falcons and Caleb Shultis and Brandon Rall had 5 intercepts each.
Riverdale hosts Fort Jennings on Sept. 25.
