Holbrook, Rose lead Rams at Ada Invite

Hurdle cleared

Ada’s Kenzie Fell races over a hurdles in the 100 meter hurdle finals during Ada Invitational competition on Saturday.

ADA — Brittany Holbrook won the 100 dash and Aspen Rose added a pair of second place finishes in the long jump and 100 meter hurdles to lead Upper Scioto Valley to a seventh place of 16 team in the girls standings at the Ada Invitational on Saturday.
The Rams finished with 38 points. Hardin Northern was 12th with 19 1/2 points and Ada was 13th with 18 points.
Minster won the meet with 110 points and Versailles was second with 107 points.
In the 100 dash, Holbrook finished with a time of 12.46 seconds to edge out Minster’s Hannah Barga (12.58 seconds) and Spencerville’s Kelly Ley (12.66 seconds).
The Ram freshman added a third place run in the 200 dash with a time of 27.34 seconds.
Rose was second in the 100 hurdles (16.31 seconds) and the long jump (15-8) and third in the 300 hurdles (49.34 seconds).
For Ada, Katelyn Simon was fourth in the high jump (4-10), Kenzie Fell was fifth in the 300 hurdles (52.81 seconds) and sixth in the 100 hurdles (17.52 seconds) and Morgan Rouch was seventh in the 800 run (2:35.47).

Mile runner

Ada’s Tristan Armbrecht competes in the mile run during the Ada Invitational on Saturday.

The Bulldogs added a sixth place in the 400 relay (55.46 seconds) and an eighth in the 1,600 relay (4:33.25).
Hardin Northern was paced by its pole vaulters as Taylor Allen was second after clearing 9-6 and Mackenzie Shepherd was sixth with a vault of 8-6.
Molly Hipsher added a sixth place run in the 800 (2:33.25), Lindsay Walden tied for sixth in the high jump (4-8) and Olivia Sampson was eighth in the discus (97-5).
The Polar Bears were seventh in the 3,200 relay (11:23.65).
In the boys meet, Ada finished eighth in the team standings with 27 points. Hardin Northern was 14th with six points and USV was 16th with 2 points.
Minster won the boys meet with 160 points. Versailles was second with 78.
Ryan Allen led the way for Ada, finishing second in the discus (149-5) and fourth in the shot put (46-1 3/4).
Also for the Bulldogs, Levi Klingler was sixth in the 110 hurdles (17.23 seconds) and seventh in the 300 hurdles (46.01 seconds) and Tristan Armbrecht was seventh in the 1,600 run (4:58.65).
Ada added seventh place efforts in the 3,200 relay (9:38) and the 400 relay (47.41 seconds).
Kurt Thomson led Hardin Northern with a fourth place effort in the 800 run (2:04.17). The Polar Bears added an eighth place finish in the 1,600 relay (3:46.99).
USV’s Joey Bauer was seventh in the pole vault (10-6).
