The Junior Trophy Bassmasters held their first fishing tournament of the 2012 season at a local farm pond last week with a great turnout and fantastic results.
There were 19 kids that competed from from 6 to 8 p.m. Catches were scored in total inches with any fish species eligible.
The first place winner with 241.5 inches was Skylar Lotz. Placing second with 195 inches was Andy Sutton and third with 162.5 inches was Brandy Neu.
The largest bass was 13 inches caught by Brandy Neu. The second largest were 11 1/2 inches caught by Skylar Lotz and Andy Sutton and the third largest was 11 inches by Darian Brown, Skylar Lotz, Rowan Frater, Bert Andy Grubbs and Caleb Hershberger.
The largest bluegill caught was 10 inches by Riley Hershberger. Catching the second largest bluegills were 9 inches by Alyssa Heldman and Brady Heldman. Catching 8-inch bluegills were Jayden Bostleman, Brady Heldman, Alyssa Heldman, Bert Andy Grubbs and Wes Minter.
The smallest fish honor went to Brady Cole and Wes Minter. Each had a 5 1/4 inch bluegill. Ellie Minter, Wes Minter, Riley Hershberger, Alexis Grubbs, and Jayden Bostleman each caught a 5 1/2 inch bluegill.
