The Kenton girls tennis team defeated Lima Senior 4-1 on Wednesday.
Winning for Kenton were Danyel Heilman who beat Ameyla Upthegrove 6-1, 7-5 at No. 1 singles and Claire Oates, who defeated Brookelyn Mason 6-2, 6-3 at No 3 singles.
At No. 2 singles, Lima Senior’s Ryann Crockett beat Amanda Freshcorn 6-3, 4-6, 7-5.
In doubles play, the Wildcat pair of Haley Jones and Kendra Tidd beat Nehlidja Bailey and Dezharnace Ramsey 6-0, 6-1; while Breanna Alexander and Emilee Marr topped Tatiana Collins and Emily Crockett 6-0, 6-1.
“The girls played much better tonight across the board and we got another win,” KHS coach Keith Kissling said. “There are still things that we need to work on, but a win is a win.”
Kenton hosts River Valley on Monday and O-G in a rescheduled match on Tuesday.
