FOSTORIA — A pair of Kenton boys will advanced to next week’s regional track meet on the first day of Division II district competition on Wednesday.
Maty Mauk advanced with a third place leap of 20-2 3/4 in the long jump. Clyde’s Ben Wollenslegel won the event with a jump of 20-9 3/4.
The Wildcats Gabe King will also move on after a fourth place toss of 147-1 in the discus. Ontario’s Eli Burdette had the top throw of the competition with a throw of 167-5.
The top four in each event move on to next week’s regional meet in Lexington.
Kenton’s Lance Taylor qualified for Friday’s finals in the 400 and 200 dashes.
His 400 qualifying time of time of 51.65 seconds won his heat and is the second quickest overall, while his 200 time of 23.60 second is the seventh fastest going into the finals.
The meet continues Friday with the remaining field event final beginning at 4 p.m. and the running finals starting at 5 p.m.
