Upper Scioto Valley’s Woody Prater chips a shot onto the green during the Northwest Central Conference golf tournament at Lost Creek Country Club on Wednesday.
LIMA — Upper Scioto Valley shot a 374 to finish second at the Northwest Conference golf tournament at Lost Creek on Wednesday afternoon.
The Rams second place finish, paired with their second place win-loss mark in the standings, was good enough to give them the NWCC championship for the 2012 season.
Blake Watkins led the way for the Rams on Wednesday, firing an 87, which was good for second place overall.
Woody Prater and Nick Sarver added 94s, Chance Watkins a 99, Travis Compton a 104 and Blake Gratz a 106.
Ridgemont failed to receive a team score after its second and third golfers were disqualified.
Devin Mouser was the top Gopher golfer with a 90.
Perry was first on Wednesday with a team score of 373.
Lehman Catholic, which will be joining the league next fall, was invited to play but not compete for the team title and finished with a 358.
The Rams and Gophers will play in the sectional tournament at Sycamore Springs next Thursday.
