Sting Rays: July 2, 2012

The Kenton Area Swim Team ended its home swim season against Wapakoneta Thursday night as the girls were defeated 345-271 and the boys fell 345-198.
Scoring for Kenton were: 8 and under girls – Riley Hunt who finished third in the 25 free and fourth in the 25 back; Lauren Bartlett who finished fourth in the 50 free, and Hunt, Delaney Buxton, Laci Freshour and Bartlett who took third in the 100 free relay. Placing for the 8 and under boys were: Anthony Hunt who finished third in the 25 fly, 25 back and 50 free, and fourth in the 25 free; Devin Dulin who took fourth in the 25 back, and finishing third in the 100 free relay was Dulin, Gage Buxton, Mason Flint and A. Hunt.
Placing for Kenton in the 9-10 girls were: Haley Hunt who finished first in the 50 free, 50 back and 50 breast; Kelsey Stanfield who finished first in the 100 IM, 50 fly and 100 free; Payton Teeters who finished second in the 50 free; Kamryn Stanfield who finished third in the 50 back and 50 breast; Eden Cronley who finished third in the 50 breast, and placing first in the 200 medley relay and 200 free relay were Kam. Stanfield, H. Hunt, Kel. Stanfield and P. Teeters.
Scoring for the Sting Rays in the 9-10 boys were: Noah Elkenbary who finished second in the 100 IM and first in the 100 free and 50 breast; Brady Beaman who finished third in the 50 free, 50 back and 50 breast; Austin Moore who finished fourth in the 50 free and second in the 100 free; Landon Bartlett who finished second in the 50 free; Rylee Messenger who finished fourth in the 50 back; Wes Minter who finished second in the 50 fly; Garrett Thomas who finished fourth in the 100 free, and placing first in the 200 medley and 200 free relays were B. Beaman, N. Elkenbary, G. Thomas and A. Moore. Second in the 200 free relay were Minter, Messenger, Patrick Bartlett and L. Bartlett.
Placing for the 11-12 girls for Kenton were: Elaina Schaub who finished second in the 50 free and first in the 50 fly and 100 free; Sarah Thomas who placed thrid in the 50 free and 100 IM, and second in the 50 breast; Paige Osborn who finished fourth in the 50 free, second in the 50 back and third in the 50 breast; Keller Stout who finished thrid in the 100 free and fourth in the 50 breast; Shyanne Howard who placed fourth in the 50 back, and placing first in the 200 medley and 200 free relays were Thomas, Schaub, K. Stout and Osborn. Finishing third in the 200 free relay were Alli Wolfe, Patience Woodruff, Catherine Lawrence and Howard.
Placing for the 11-12 boys were: Mason Bloom who finished first in the 50 free and second in the 50 fly and 50 back; Colton Hale who finished second in the 50 free; Chandler Beach who finished fourth in the 50 back; Kobe Kirk who finished fourth in the 100 free, and finishing first in the 200 medley relay were K. Kirk, C. Hale, Bloom and Gunnar Fisher. Finishing second in the 200 free relay were Hale, Kirk, Beach and Bloom.
Scoring for Kenton in the 13-14 girls were: Ashton Cole who finished second in the 50 and 100 free, and first in the 50 back; Mo Gray who finished first in the 100 IM, 50 fly and 50 breast; Jenna Sherman who finished third in the 50 and 100 free, and second in the 50 breast; Jana Cronley who finished fourth in the 50 back, and finishing first in the 200 medley relay and second in the 200 free relay were Cronley, Gray, Sherman and Cole.
Placing for the 13-14 boys was Tyler Rosebrook who finished second in the 50 free, 50 back and 100 free, and first in the 50 breast.
Scoring for the Sting Rays in the 15-18 girls were: Emily Schaub who placed second in the 100 free and 50 breast, and first in the 50 free; Haley Sorren who finished third in the 50 free and first in the 50 breast; Kylie Rosebrook who finished third in the 50 back and 100 free, and fourth in the 50 free; Jessica Boone who finished third in the 100 IM; Ashley Deardorff who finished second in the 50 fly, and placing second in the 200 medley relay were Deardorff, Sorren, Schaub and Boone. Placing second in the 200 free relay were Sorren, Rosebrook, Schaub and Deardorff.
Placing for Kenton in the 15-18 boys were: Sam Baird who finished first in the 50 free; Grant Cole who finished first in the 50 back, second in the 50 free and third in the 100 IM; Simon Gray who finished third in the 50 breast and fourth in the 100 IM and placing second in the 200 medley relay and first in the 200 free relay were Cole, Gray, Evan Wilkerson and Baird.
The Kenton Area Swim Team swims at Ada today at 6 p.m. in their final dual meet before the championships on July 13 and 14 in Bluffton.
