Events for Veterans Memorial Park Golf Club for the Week of July 16
Tuesday – Ladies League, 9 a.m.,most sand traps; Senior League, tee times 2:30 p.m.; 5:00 Cooler League, 9 hole scramble, call ahead to register.
Wednesday – Senior Scramble, 9:30 a.m.; Elks League, 4 to 6 p.m., front nine,
Thursday – Junior League, 10 a.m. to noon; Moose League 4 to 6 p.m. on the back nine
Friday – Couples League 4 to 5:30 p.m. on the front nine
Monday, July 23 –Senior Scramble, 9:30 a.m.

Congratulations to Jane Baker who recorded her first ever hole-in-one Sunday, July 15 on the 88 yard 13th hole using a seven iron. Witnesses were Judy Brim and Jene Ann Wood.

Thanks to Bill Hart for his donation of golf balls for use in the Junior League.

The Tuesday morning Ladies’ League winners this past week were Annetta Lenhart and Judy Hanna in the blind draw for a partner play of the day.

The weekly winner for the Tuesday afternoon Senior League this past week was Marv Sallee who became the first three time weekly winner. His win vaulted him into first place in the season standings dropping Duane Spencer to second. Russ Williams has moved into third place.

In the Thursday morning Junior League the team of Caitlin Tudor, Lenore Kohl, Carter Hale, and Parker Rarey and the team of Zachary Thiel, Garrett Royer, Evan Tudor, and Colten Hale tied for first in the scramble event. Twenty three youth were in attendance. The Junior league continues each Thursday morning thru August second.

Future events include the McBlack Reunion on July 22 which benefits the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Ohio and has a 9 a.m. reverse shotgun start.
The annual Pigskin Open will be held on Saturday, July 28 with a 9 a.m. shotgun start and benefits the Kenton High School football team.
The hospice scramble will be held on August 4, the Hardin County Chamber & Business Alliance scramble is slated for Aug. 10, the Moose-Elks District Shootout will be Aug. 11 and the “Golfing for a Cure” ladies’ scramble will be August 12.

Standings in the Moose League have the team of Don Dearing, Bob Jackson, Gary Simon, Scott Sorgen and Randy Comer in first place with 260 points followed by the team of Richard Baum, Jim Davis, Rick Brown, Joey Osborn and Tab Rogers with 252 points in second.
The team of David Bettinger, Jim Ellis, Steve Benson, Steve McCullough, and Jim Gayman round out the top three places with 240.5 points.

The Elks League standings finds the team of Greg McClain, Dave Deever, Daren Fogle, Ernie Klingelhofer and Todd Cannode in first with 292.5 points.
Only a point behind is the team of Ike Wirbel, Gene Longbrake, Jerry Waddle, Dean Longbrake and Roger Crowe. In distant third place with 257.5 points is the team of Dean Brim, Matt Bailey, Keith Kissling, Jim Ramge, and Jim Pruden.
