Events at Memorial Park Golf Club for the week of July 22:
Tuesday — Ladies League, 9 a.m. Play of the day; Blind Draw for Partner
Wednesday — Senior Scramble, 9:30 a.m.
Thursday — Junior League, 10 – 11:30 a.m., scramble format
Sunday — “Rally for a Cure” Scramble 1 p.m., shotgun start
Monday — Senior Scramble, 9:30 a.m.; Board meeting 5 p.m.
The 16th annual McBlack Family Reunion was held this past Sunday to benefit Ronald McDonald House charities. There were 46 participants who raised $836 for this organization.
The winners were as follows: men’s low gross Richard Baum Jr. with a 73, men’s low net Bob Osbun with a 65, women’s low gross Jene Ann Wood with a 96, women’s low net Nancy Brim with a 73. Bill Hart won the par-3 challenge with even par.
Skill prizes were: closest to the pin – Dean Brim, Daren Fogle, Bill Hart and Richard Baum Jr.; long putt – Doug Williams; women’s long drive – Nancy Brim; men’s long drive – Eric Henley; and closest to the pin in two – Daren Fogle.
Thanks to those who donated prizes for the event: Greg and Barb McClain, Joe and Sandy Prater, Tom Roof, Paul Root, David Geiger, Jim Black, and the volunteer helpers Sherry Millard, Krista Hart, Jed Dorsey, Ben Nelson and Richard Baum Jr.
On July 28 the second annual “golf for a cure” ladies only scramble will be held with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Team registration forms are available at the course, so get your four ladies together, make plans on how to decorate your cart and get ready to have a fun day. The course will be closed that afternoon for just the ladies.
In the Tuesday afternoon Senior League, Larry Ramey continues to lead with Tom Meyers and David Legge closing in. Last week’s results: Marv Sallee and Legge tied for first and tied for third were Charles Strasbaugh and Meyers.
