Events for Veterans Memorial Park Golf Club for the week of June 11
Tuesday – Ladies League, 9 a.m.; Senior League, tee times at 2:30 p.m.; 5:00 Cooler League,nine-hole scramble, call ahead to register.
Wednesday – Senior Scramble, 9:30 a.m.; Elks League, 4 to 6 p.m. back nine;
Thursday – Moose League, 4 to 6 p.m. front nine;
Friday – Council on Aging Scramble, 9 a.m. shotgun start; Couples League, 4 to 5:30 p.m. on the back;
Saturday – Dunkirk Open, 9 a.m. shotgun start;
Monday, June 18 – Senior Scramble, 9:30 a.m.

Session one of the Jack Rogers Youth Clinic is full but there is plenty of room for session two which runs from 10:30 a.m. to noon on June 21.
David Brim will once again be the instructor. A sign up sheet is posted at the course. Participants need to be between the ages of 6 to 14 and have their own clubs. Once again, thanks to Dr. Kate for sponsoring this opportunity for our youngsters.

The Tuesday morning Ladies’ League winner last week was Tammy Wright and Mary Mabrey finshing second in a shamble format. This week the play of the day is the most one putts. Next week the ladies will host a nine-hole invitational scramble that will have a 9 a.m. shotgun start. The front nine will be closed to public play from 7:30 a.m. to noon that day.

The Tuesday afternoon Senior League has completed six weeks of play and Duane Spencer leads the league followed by John Connolly and Russ Williams. This past week’s winner was Duane Davis.

Standings in the Moose League have the team of J. P. White, John McEntee, Scott Sampson, Larry Mankey and Chris Blue moving from third place to first with 116.5 points. In second with 114 points is the team of Don Dearing, Bob Jackson, Gary Simon, Scott Sorgen and Randy Comer. Rounding out the top three teams is the team of Bob Osbun, Jerry Waddle, Marvin Sallee, Ernie Klingelhofer and Russ Williams with 100 points.

The Elks League standings finds the team of Ike Wirbel, Gene Longbrake, Jerry Waddle, Dean Longbrake, and Roger Crowe moving into sole possession of first with 173 points. In second with 164.5 points is the team of Greg McClain, Dave Deever, Daren Fogle, Ernie Klingelhofer and Todd Cannode. The team of Joe Prater, Doug Roberts, Andy Tudor, Mike Kohl and John Hines has dropped to third place with 157.5 points.

Posted at the course are sign up sheets for upcoming charitable scrambles. June 23 is the date for the LOVE, INC. scramble with a 9 a.m. shotgun start and June 30 is the date for the Red Cross scramble with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
Both of these outings have a four person sign up format. Cost and guideline information on these scrambles is posted with the sign up sheets.

Thanks to Marilyn Hiller for her donation of a 19th hole decorative flag to the course.
The next membership only event will be the mid season par three challenge to be held June 30 with a 3:30 shotgun start. The format for this event will be a two person signup with a blind draw for partners after play has begun. Two person teams should make up their own foursomes.
