Wildcats suffer WBL setback at Van Wert

VAN WERT — Van Wert scored in all six inning it batted on the way to a 13-3 six-inning win over Kenton in Western Buckeye League baseball action on Friday.
The Wildcats, who fall to 1-12 overall and 0-4 in WBL play, gave up two runs to the host Cougars in the first inning, five in the second and three in the third, before giving up single run in each of the final three innings.
Kenton scored a run in the third and two in the fourth.
Brice Fackle had pair of hits including a triple and an RBI to lead the Wildcat hitting attack.
Matt Bahr added a double and an RBI, Caleb Halsey had a single and Kasey Rawlins had an RBI.
Rawlins took the pitching loss, allowing 10 earned runs on 11 hits and 5 walks, while striking out three batters in the complete game effort.
The Wildcats host Shawnee on Tuesday.
