RUSHVILLE, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say they are interviewing a person who may be connected to a dead body found in a burning car in central Ohio over the weekend.
A 911 call late Saturday alerted sheriff’s deputies to the burning car in a remote area near the village of Rushville, in Fairfield County southeast of Columbus.
After the fire was extinguished, firefighters discovered the body inside.
The person hasn’t yet been identified.
One of the people who called 911 told investigators they had seen people running away from the car after it started burning, but they couldn’t be located.
On Sunday deputies executed a search warrant at a home about four miles away from the scene.
They said the warrant was connected to the crime, but there was no further information.
