Crash claims Tiffin man

FINDLAY — A Tiffin man was killed in a two-vehicle accident Monday morning in Hancock County’s Washington Township.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two-vehicle injury crash on CR 330 at CR 216 in Washington Township on at 5:31 a.m.
Through investigation, it was learned that Craig M. Scalf, 55 of Tiffin, was driving a 2013 Ford Escape on CR 216. James A. Cole, 45 of Mount Blanchard, was driving a 2000 Kenworth     W900 tractor, which was pulling a grain trailer full of corn.
Scalf failed to stop for the posted stop sign, striking the trailer. Scalf’s vehicle came to rest in the northeast corner of the intersection.
Scalf was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained from the crash. Cole was not injured in the crash.
The Ford Escape was towed from the scene by Dick’s Towing. Also assisting at the scene was Washington Township Fire Department and Hanco EMS.
The crash remains under investigation.
