Senior rescued from fire

XENIA, Ohio (AP) — Authorities said five people were rescued and 64 residents were displaced when a fire hit an Ohio apartment building for seniors.
Firefighters said it happened Sunday night in Xenia, near Dayton.
The Dayton Daily News reports that the five people had to be rescued because the smoke was so heavy on the third floor that they could not get out.
Xenia Fire Chief Kenneth Riggsby said it took about an hour and a half to get the fire under control. Four apartments were burned on the third floor. The cause is under investigation.
Riggsby said the damage to the all-wood building was extensive.
