Two killed in plane crash near Findlay Posted on July 29, 2014 0 0 2 FINDLAY — The only two occupants of a small aircraft were pronounced dead at the scene when the plane crashed northeast of Findlay early Sunday morning. The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of the crash on CR 18, between TR 215 and CR 216, Cass Township, at 1:11 a.m. Sunday, July 27. The only two occupants in the plane were a male pilot and a female passenger. The names of the occupants are being witheld pending family notifications. The airplane was a Lancair small aircraft traveling from Holland, Mich. to Bluffton. The roadway remains closed at this time as the crash remains under investigation by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, Hancock COunty Coroner’s Office, the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board. Assisting at the scene was Allen Township Fire Department and Hanco EMS.
