Kenton downs Defiance 4-1 in boys tennis
The Kenton boys tennis team downed visiting Defiance 4-1 for its first Western Buckeye League win of the season on Tuesday.
At first singles, Kenton’s Wyatt Campbell defeated Julian Dahman 6-0, 6-2.
Kenton’s Seth Spencer notched a 6-0, 6-4 win over Diego Rivera at second singles.
Kenton’s first doubles duo of Cale Harshfield and Braylon Smith defeated Edgar Fernandez and Noah Hohenbrink 6-0, 6-3.
In second doubles, Kenton’s tandem of Tate Ketcham and Jack Whitmer defeated Defiance’s Henry Hoffman and Jacob Schnitkey 6-3, 7-5.
Kenton’s Richard Huang dropped a 6-4, 6-2 match at third singles to Lorenzo Casatenda.
Kenton had two doubles pairings pick up wins in junior varsity play. Ethan McNamara and Parker Benson won 8-2, while Jace Murphy and Brian Rogers earned a 6-5 victory.
