Shelton, president of HazMat Resources, speaks to Rotary Club

Daniel Shelton, president of HazMat Resources, was the recent guest of Rotarian Kirk Shepherd. Shelton has dedicated his career to protecting people and liquid cargo as it is transported across the nation.

Shelton has been involved in the transportation and logistics field for over forty-five years, focusing on air and highway transportation.

He spent 17 years with the Department of Transportation (DOT) where he served as national hazmat cargo tank program manager.

In his current role he serves as an expert consultant for all rules pertaining to and regulation of transport of hazardous materials.

Shelton explained that in certain points of transport and transfer of hazardous material different regulatory bodies have “say” or interpretation of the laws which are put into place by higher levels of government.

This is often times confusing as the law is created and opinions are created in the course of court cases.

Needless to say if you are facing uncertainty in a hazardous material situation Shelton is someone who you want on your side.
