The Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance is planning its 2nd Annual Student Job and Career Fair and is seeking local and regional businesses to participate. For companies looking to hire part-time or full-time positions, summer jobs or internships, this will be an opportunity to meet with 500-plus graduating high school seniors and juniors.

The annual meeting of the United Way of Hardin County is set for Thursday, March 15 at the fellowship hall of St. John’s Evangelical Church, Kenton. Activities will begin at 7 a.m. with a continental breakfast, with the meeting to begin at 7:30 a.m.

The Hardin Country Board of Elections will meet at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13 in its office in the courthouse to certify candidate petitions. In addition, the board will review the auditor’s report, approve the minutes of the Jan. 4 meeting and pay bills.

McGUFFEY — The Upper Scioto Valley Board of Education will hold its regular monthly meetings on the third Monday of each month at 6 p.m. in the board room at the school, with the exception of the February meeting which will be held on Feb. 26.

Ronald L. Zimmerly, Jr., President and CEO of Liberty National Bank, recently announced the bank’s participation in the Welcome Home Program, which is a grant sponsored by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati. The Welcome Home Program was designed to assist eligible homeowners with down payment or closing costs when purchasing or buying a home.

McGUFFEY — Water and sewer plant operator Jim Meyer has resigned from the village of McGuffey and council will seek a replacement for the long-time employee. Meyer met with council in a special meeting Thursday afternoon and explained that due to a recent death in his family, he would not have the time needed to work for the village.
