The Hardin County Board of Elections will start processing absentee ballots at 9 a.m. Monday in its office in the courthouse.

The Kenton Board of Zoning Appeals will meet on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 11 a.m. in the conference room at the Kenton Municipal Building to review a sign application for Oakridge Realty.

Kenton City Council approved appropriating $110,000 toward the resurfacing of U.S. 68 through part of the city in 2018 at its meeting Monday night. The action, approved as an emergency, came after the city was recently notified by the Ohio Department of Transportation of its plans to grind and repave U.S. 68 from Franklin Street south to the new International Paper warehouse.

A three-year plan to address youth and young adult underage drinking and misuse of prescription drugs was presented to Kenton City Council on Monday night. Robin Oates of the Partnership for Violence Free Families is the project director.

A proposed $320,050 project to resolve a storm drainage issue on Kenton’s south side was discussed at Monday night’s City Council session. Law Director John Schwemer said the plan was created by the Hardin County Engineer’s Office, which was petitioned by the city to investigate the drainage issue.
