DOLA — The Hardin Northern Board of Education will meet in special session today at 8 p.m. to consider the employment of an assistant baseball coach and a substitute bus driver. The session will take place in the computer lab.

The Hardin County Veterans Service Commission (VSC) will have an opening on their board, which will be available starting January 1, 2019. Interested candidates must be a resident of Hardin County, an honorably discharged/separated veteran, and a member in good standing with one of the following service organizations: Military Order of the Purple Heart of the U.S.A., Vietnam Veterans of America, or the Korean War Veterans Association.

Joan Wagner and the Plaza Inn, Mt. Victory, will be hosting the second “All Out” for the United Way of Hardin County on Monday, Sept. 24. The restaurant will donate a portion of its receipts for the day to this year’s campaign to benefit 21 non-profit agencies in Hardin County.

ADA — October 3 marks 125 years for Liberty National Bank. In 1893, the bank was first chartered and organized in Ada as a state bank under Ohio laws and was known as the Ada Savings Bank. On June 8, 1901, the bank was granted a charter to operate as a national bank and it was then that it became known as the First National Bank of Ada.

MARION – POET Biorefining – Marion opened an 80-million gallon expansion this week at a celebration that included area farmers, community members and state officials. POET Biorefining Marion now has an annual capacity of 150 million gallons of clean-burning biofuel and 360,000 tons of high-protein animal feed per year, according to a release from the company.

DOLA — Hardin Northern Board of Education member Michelle Obenour will be honored by the Northwest Region of the Ohio School Board Association next month for her 15 years of service to the district. The recognition will take place on Oct. 4 at the Sentinel CTC Center in Tiffin.
