Hardin County fair board meets

The Hardin County Agricultural Society met Wednesday, November 7, 2018, for their November board meeting. Nineteen directors were present and seven guests were present. Corey Ledley, president, called the meeting to order. Mark Badertscher, OSU Extension Agent, asked if the board would be interested in finding a place to hang the Agriculture Hall of Fame pictures. There are currently around 50 and that number grows by around four each year.

Rain and heat had big impact on fair

The weather didn't cooperate at this year's Hardin County Fair. The week started off with sweltering heat and ended in a muddy mess. In the end, the band showcase was the only paid event that took place in the grandstands. Harness racing went on as scheduled but was admission-free. The tractor pull, demolition derby and Dylan Scott concert were canceled because of the rainy conditions for safety reasons, said Grandstand Committee Chairman Rob Wilson.
