The Gibbons Family will be performing at Kenton Full Gospel Church, 129 N. Wayne St., at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19.

MOUNT VICTORY — There will be a Victory Gospel summer concert from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21 at the Community Building, 234 N. Washington St., Mount Victory. Doors open at 4 p.m. Appearing will be Dave and Sharon Liles with Barb McCarre, One Voice, The Victory Gospel Singers and Musicians Band and Janet Moore.

Often in the past, and even more now than I like, I have asked God in my prayers: “Please be with me, and help me with such and such”. While this prayer is OK because God always wants us to share all our concerns with him, it also makes some assumptions which are not good.
