FINDLAY – Outdoor enthusiasts interested in learning to prepare and can white-tailed deer meat are encouraged to attend a free informational seminar on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).

Kenton Garden Club met Tuesday evening December 19 at the home of Jane Landsberg at 6 p.m. for a carry-in dinner and Christmas gift exchange. The home was tastefully decorated in keeping with the season.

Painter Creek Community Grange members gathered Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the hall. Family Activities chair Jean Dirkson reported that Painter Creek will host Pomona in January.

The Memorial Park Bridge Club met on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at the Pro Shop Annex. The hostess was Mary Hamilton and there were three tables in play.

William E.D. Shepherd and Erica M. Smith are parents of a 6-pound, 4-ounce, 20.5-inch boy, Winchester M. Shepherd, born on Monday, Dec. 17, 2018. Grandparents are David and Pam Smith and Robert and Michelle Shepherd. Great-grandparents are David and Sara Sutherland and Dean and Judy Tackett. The infant is joined at home by a brother, Hunter.

I just read a devotion where a childless wife questioned God’s faithfulness to her and her husband. She had long been praying for God to bless them with a baby before Christmas. Because her prayer was not answered as she had hoped, she wondered if God truly cared for her. Maybe God had not heard her.

FOREST — The First Presbyterian Church in Forest will be hosting a community Candlelight Service at 11 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Monday, Dec. 24. The service will include scripture narration, organ music, and traditional Christmas carols. All are invited.

The Victory Gospel Music will be holding its annual New Year’s Eve carry-in supper and concert from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29 at the Mount Victory Community Building. Doors open at 4 p.m. Music will be by Dave Smith, Jeremy Liles, the Gospel Music Band, Janet Moore and Chris Horne.
