The Walnut Grove Mission Society met Tuesday, May 1 at noon at Mr. Cheezy’s in Dunkirk. Cheryl Reese gave the blessing before lunch was enjoyed by all. Mary Lou Adams shared the stories of Mary and Martha from a devotional Bile study, “Women of the Bible”.

Country music fans are invited to the Plaza Inn Jamboree on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the restaurant in Mount Victory. Classic country music will be performed by Pickin’ and Grinnin’ with returning musicians Kathy and Keith LeVan.

The Memorial Park Bridge Club met on Wednesday, May 2 at the Pro Shop Annex. The hostess was Kathleen Telljohann and there were three tables in play.

COLUMBUS — Several Ridgemont FFA members found success at the state convention on Thursday with many advancing to present their projects at the national level this fall. State first-place winners include: Alexis Elliott,, Isaiah Savage, Kelsey Stanfield, Jackson Reppert, Kelsey Stanfield, Kaylynn Bailey, Mikayla Ridgdon, Madisen Jolliff and Rebecca Bash.

Wolf Creek Art Center and the Hardin County Humane Society are offering another relaxing, fun Paint and Sip class on May 19 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Humane Society facility at 13510 U.S 68, Kenton. Refreshments will be provided.

May 3rd is designated as National Day of Prayer. You can keep this day simple by just saying a prayer on your own or you can go all out and attend events and pray with others as a group.

Kenton High School needs fair king and queen candidates for the 2018 Hardin County Fair. Candidates must be seniors at KHS during the 2018-2019 school year, reside in a Hardin County school district and be current members of FFA, 4-H, Farm Bureau youth, Grange, Scouts or enrolled in family and consumer sciences or art classes.
