Keep Hardin County Beautiful hosted its 25th Annual Banquet on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at the First United Methodist Church in Kenton. The theme was "Composting.” The tables were decorated with different colors of potted mums, stainless steel composting pails for the kitchen counter, and vintage canning jars with wildflower seed mix in them.

There will be a Veterans Day program at the AMVETS Post 1994 post home on Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. The program will have a raising of the flag, and the Kenton High School band will play the national anthem.

DOLA — The Hardin Northern Student Council is planning a Veterans Day Assembly on Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the junior high gym. All veterans and their families in the HN community are invited to attend.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Riverdale High School National Honor Society is inviting area veterans to attend its annual Veterans Day Assembly on Friday at 10:15 a.m. in the school gymnasium. After the assembly, veterans will be treated to lunch courtesy of the National Honor Society.

MOUNT VICTORY — A spaghetti dinner benefit will be held for Mike Moore on Nov. 13 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Community Building in Mount Victory. Other activities include Tater the Clown, a bake sale, auction, raffles, DJ Rick Smith and photos.

DUNKIRK — Euchre will be played weekly at the Hardin Northern Community Center starting Thursday, Nov. 10. Anyone interested in the card game is invited to the center to play from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

FOREST — The Forest-Jackson Public Library will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day. The card catalog is available 24/7 at www.forestlibrary.org.
