Sumner wins twice, will place at state

COLUMBUS — Chase Sumner will be a state placer in Division III at 132 pounds. The Ada sophomore stayed in contention with a consolation pin Thursday after losing his first match in the state wrestling tournament. Friday, he again was the aggressor in a 7-2 decision over Oak Harbor's Dylan Mansor to clinch a podium spot.

First competition

The members of the Ridgemont archery team left this morning to compete at the Arnold Classic for the National Archery in the Schools shoot. The contest in Columbus is the first competition for the team.

ADA — Steven Slagle scored two goals and dished out six assists to lead the Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team to a dominant 19-4 victory over Franciscan in ONU's inaugural varsity contest on Saturday afternoon at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
