Mary Prater (left) and Deanna Wages prepare for Saturday’s community spaghetti dinner at Wharton Park in Kenton. The dinner, consisting of spaghetti, breadsticks, salad, applesauce and dessert will be served in the park from noon to 2 p.m. at no charge, sponsored by Helping Hands Outreach.

The Kenton Board of Education on Monday night got some insight into how local students benefit from interaction with foreign exchange students. Two exchange students from Olentangy Orange High School (from left, front) Zainab Asghar from Pakistan and Ainara Laborda from Spain, along with (back) Sasha Khakimova from Kazakstan and Liza Odokiienko from Ukraine shared information about their countries.

Support of family, faculty and former teachers leads Jones to KHS post

Kenton High School Assistant Principal Jason Jones has drawn from the support of many people in his life – family, faculty and former teachers and coaches – to get him where he is today. Jones officially took over the role on Aug. 1, filling the spot left by Chad Thrush who now serves as principal following the retirement of Rick Abbott.
