A happy Thanksgiving

Volunteers prepare meals for guests at the Armory in Kenton during the 20th annual Helping Hands Outreach Thanksgiving Dinner. The meals were prepared and delivered by a small army of helpers to shut-ins and firefighters, medical personnel, policemen and deputies.

Christmas kickoff

The Christmas season kicked off in Kenton Tuesday night with the Lions Club Christmas Parade.   The parade began following the lighting of the courthouse Christmas display by the county commissioners and concluded with the arrival of Santa Claus. The evening also included the unveiling of the Window Wonderland Christmas displays in downtown buildings. Times photos by Dan Robinson

A sticky situation

Third grader Cailyn Hopkins places a strip of duct tape on Kenton Elementary School custodian Robert Ashbrook on Tuesday morning. As a reward for selling tickets for the school’s fall fundraiser, students were invited to place strips of duct tape on either Principal Angela Butterman or Ashbrook, sticking them to the brick columns in the school’s cafeteria.

Quest branch robbed

The Quest Federal Credit Union’s branch on Jacob Parrott Blvd. in Kenton was robbed late this morning. According to information from Lt. Robert Lutes of the Kenton Police Department, the call came in about 11 a.m. today regarding the robbery. Based on surveilence cameras, he continued, a white male, about 20 years-old and six feet tall is the only suspect …
