DeGRAFF — Ada seemed to be figuring out Riverside's vaunted rushing attack. After allowing 132 rushing yards in the first quarter, the Bulldogs held Riverside to 49 rushing yards for the next quarter and a half.

ALGER — There are plenty of chicken farms in Hardin County. There is an abundance of pig farms, beef farms and dairies, but Jimmy and Susan Lightners’ Cattail Farm is unique.

A holiday scene created by local artist Pat Gamby will be sold with a portion of the sale donated to the Hardin County Museums. Director Linda Iams stands with the original egg tempera painting, which has a price tag of $6,800.

MOUNT VICTORY — Last year, the Ridgemont third-graders agreed to reach out to the orphans at the Be Like Brit Orphanage in Haiti. They made books to share with the students and their creations will be personally delivered to the children within the week by a group of volunteers from Hardin County.

The three contested mayors’ races in Hardin County were not even close. Kenton Mayor Randy Manns had little opposition at the polls Tuesday. Manns was the only candidate to have his name appear on the ballot, but he was challenged by write-in candidates Joe Hord and John Alexander.

DOLA — The student body of Hardin Northern was rocking and rolling as they learned what it takes to become a successful author. Sigmund Brouwer has sold more than three million copies of his books. The titles include “Devil’s Pass” and “Justine McKeen and the Bird Nerd.”

A truck driven by Donald Weiner of Columbus was traveling north on East Forest Road (Ohio 53) in Kenton Monday morning when a car driven by Gage Derossett, Belle Center, pulled out from the driveway at Forest Court Apartments.
