We have a new puppy in our household. His name is Dewey and he is a 9 months old black retriever mix. Having a young dog who needs a lots of walks helps me to appreciate our neighborhood.

The Patterson United Methodist Church, 204 W. Main St., Patterson, will be hosting an election hamloaf dinner at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6. On the menu is hamloaf, a potato, green beans, a roll, a drink and homemade pie for a suggested donation of $8.

TGMA Gospel Music Promotions will be presenting “Gospel Praise Gathering” at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10 at Westminster United Methodist Church, 6650 Faulkner Road, Harrod. The gathering will feature Sandi & Kaylene, Jimmy Potridge, one Voice, Dee Runion, Randy Long, Ken Ziegler, The Seekers, Arnold Coy, Jake Reel, Chris Baldwin, Peggy Hamilton, Paula Barron, Miss Amanda, and the Gospel Praise Gathering Choir.

I was watching Family Feud one evening and one of the fast money questions at the end was, “How many of the Ten Commandments have you broken?” The first person’s response was nine! The show’s host Steve Harvey asked her, “Which one haven’t you broken?”

LIMA — Trinity United Methodist Church, 301 W. Market St., is presenting the 2018-19 Ronald W. Richards Music Series. This year, the series will feature three concerts. The first, on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 5 p.m., will feature organist Jonathan Hehn in concert on the church’s recently restored Schantz pipe organ.

LAFAYETTE — An Election Day lunch will be hosted at the Lafayette First United Methodist Church from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6. The church is located at 204 W. Main St., Lafayette. On the menu is chili soup, vegetable soup, shredded chicken, hot dogs, salad bar, dessert and drinks.

CAREY — Area singers are invited to join the Carey Ecumenical Christmas Choir as preparations begin for this year’s concert to be held on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 4:30 p.m. The concert will be held at the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, 315 Clay Street in Carey.

Singer Jeremy Liles will be featured Saturday, Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. at Auglaize Free United Baptist Church. The church is located off Ohio 309 at Maysville.
