COLUMBUS – Four area high school musicians will perform in the All-Ohio State Fair Band during the 2015 Ohio State Fair. They are Sebastian R. Bejarano, trumpet, Hardin Northern; Crystal A. Brown, French horn, Upper Scioto Valley; Daniel I. Johnson, trumpet, Ridgemont and Katelyn M. Shepherd, baritone, Riverdale.

The Christian rock band “7eventh Time Down” will be featured at the Cruise-In Concert Saturday at the St. John’s United Church of Christ parking lots. The family event will provide music, food, and fellowship, along with a 5-K run/walk.

WHARTON — The Wharton Park Board is announcing the Wharton Community Park fundraiser to be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 18 at the park shelterhouse.

MARION — The Marion Palace Theatre kicks off its 2015-16 season with a musical production based on a popular Disney movie, “Mary Poppins.” The show will be presented five times July 11-19 on the Marion Palace Theatre stage.

AMVETS Post 1994 is hosting its second annual car show on Saturday, July 4 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine, at the post home, 417 W. Espy St., Kenton. Registration is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the cost is $15 per entry.

Area children will present a familiar story in a shorter format when they stage “Beauty and the Beast Jr.” this weekend in Kenton. Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Kenton Middle School auditorium.

ADA — Patriotic classics, American standards, and popular movie and Broadway tunes will highlight the Lima Symphony Orchestra’s Fourth of July “Patriotic Pops” celebration on the campus of Ohio Northern University.
