Darryl Strawberry was a member of the 1986 New York Mets team that won the World Series and was named the National League’s Rookie of the Year in 1983.

A Dunkirk man was placed on community control after pleading guilty to charges in a case heard in Hardin County Common Pleas Court. According to court records from Prosecutor Brad Bailey’s office, Lonnie Ray Slone, 461 S. Walnut St., Dunkirk, admitted to kicking in the door at the home of his ex-wife, also in Dunkirk.
