What will Dicamba labeling changes mean for farmers? The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced an agreement with Monsanto, BASF and DuPont to change dicamba registration and labeling beginning with the 2018 growing season. EPA reports that the agreement was a voluntary measure taken by the manufacturers to minimize the potential of dicamba drift from “over the top” applications on genetically engineered soybeans and cotton, a recurring problem that has led to a host of regulatory and litigation issues across the Midwest and South. Judge to rule on attorney conflict in attempted murder case Judge Scott Barrett is being asked to decide if a conflict of interest will keep a Marion attorney from representing a Roundhead man in an attempted murder case. Garrett “Tony” Sheldon is being charged with a total of 15 counts including attempted aggravated murder, a felony of the first degree, and four counts of attempted aggravated arson, after law enforcement says he attempted to convince his son to kill his estranged wife and stepson by setting their house on fire.
