As Kenton Elementary students arrive and leave school each day, a group of classmates stand guard as they cross the nearby streets. The crossing guard program at the school kicked off earlier this month, said advisor Joy Van Horn.

Kenton City Council completed the annexation of land Monday night which will be the future home of the relocated Fastenal business. Council, suspending the three-reading rule, approved an ordinance to annex 2.06 acres at the corner of Bales Road and Ohio 31 on the city’s south side.
