Kenton is being encouraged to form an energy district to help a local business take advantage of low-cost financing for energy upgrades. Uptown Furniture on West Lima Street wants to add rooftop solar energy to its building by utilizing the program offered by the Toledo Lucas County Port Authority.

Kenton City Council completed the annexation of land Monday night which will be the future home of the relocated Fastenal business. Council, suspending the three-reading rule, approved an ordinance to annex 2.06 acres at the corner of Bales Road and Ohio 31 on the city’s south side.

William Alan Adams Jr., 424 E. Franklin St., Apt. 2, reported finding a drug abuse instrument – a chrome pipe with a brown residue inside – in the 400 block of Kohler St. Davon Klesmit, address unknown, was arrested on a warrant from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office.

FOREST — Mike and Tracy Boyd woke up Saturday to a call all parents dread. Their teenage daughter, Elizabeth “Lizzie” Saracson, is missing.

JoAnn Erwin became a “familiar face” during her 34 years as the administrative assistant at St. John’s Evangelical Church in Kenton. Erwin, a Mount Victory native and Kenton resident, officially retired from the position on March 1 after complications with open heart surgery forced her to step down four months shy of the 35-year mark.
