The operator of a Lima boxing club for troubled youth asked Kenton City Council on Monday night for help in finding a building to open a similar club in the city. Lonnie Rettig operates South Side Spartans Gym in Lima and believes Kenton would be a good site to expand the program.

A McGuffey man was sent to prison for nearly five years and labeled a sexual offender for life after being found guilty of charges in a case heard in Hardin County Common Pleas Court.

Heather C. Eatherton, 106 E. Dixon St., Forest, was westbound on E. Columbus Street in the 1,000 block, while Hanah R. Stansbery, Forest, was leaving the parking lot of 1123 E. Columbus St.

The apartment complex fire which took the life of a Kenton man has been determined to have been the result of arson. Signs offering a reward of up to $5,000 have been posted for information leading to the arrest of the responsible person.

Neal Ray Jr., New Knoxville – speeding 54 mph in a 20 mph school zone, fined $250. Derrick J. Terry, Grove City – speeding 67 mph in a 55 mph zone, fined $25.

A 16–year-old female for speeding 81/70 mph zone, court ordered: carteens, 30-day license suspension, and fined $17. A 17–year-old male for failure to yield right of way, court ordered: carteens, 45-day license suspension with work privileges, and fined $35.

Kenton police investigate a two-vehicle crash that occurred late Friday morning on East Columbus Street at the east exit at Kmart. KPD Lt. Rob Lutes said the driver of a truck was pulling from the lot but failed to yield to a westbound van.
