An McGuffey man was declared to be an arson offender and was placed on community control in a recent case in the Hardin County Common Pleas Court.

ADA — The Ohio Northern University Department of Music presents a Jazz Ensemble concert, “Hot Jazz for a Cold Evening,” in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts on Thursday, Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m.

The annual Christmas at the Farm is set for 1 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Hardin Historic Village and Farm, located just east of the Hardin County Fairgrounds at the south edge of Kenton.

RIDGEWAY — The Ridgeway council has been operating with four members for several months, but the resignation of one of the four Tuesday night has left the council in a difficult situation. Councilman Mike Jenkins announced he would be moving just outside the village and would need to resign his seat on council.

COLUMBUS — Hunters checked 73,399 white-tailed deer during Ohio’s 2015 deer-gun hunting season, Nov. 30-Dec. 6, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). This represents a significant increase over last year’s harvest of 65,484 deer.

The Hardin County Board of Elections will be transferring data to disks on Wednesday at 9 a.m. in its office in the courthouse.

As Jamie Davis prepared for a meeting at the Hardin County Coonhunters Club Monday afternoon, he was a little apprehensive. This was to be the second special meeting called by the organization to discuss the future of the club east of Hepburn, formed in 1953 to educate and preserve hunting sports.
