The Hardin Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD), Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), The Nature Conservancy (TNC), John Deere and OSU Extension have teamed to plan an Agriculture Conservation, Protecting Water: Keeping Soil and Nutrients in the Field event on Friday, Sept. 18.

UPPER SANDUSKY — The Star Theatre in Upper Sandusky has named the cast of its 2015 summer musical production, “Hello Dolly.” It includes Julie McGinnis as Dolly Gallagher Levi, Christopher Thacker as Horace Vandergelder, Ben Book as Cornelius Hackl, Hailie Crowder as Irene Molloy, Levi Hill as Barnaby Tucker, Mallory Gleespen as Minnie Fay, Donovan Callahan as Abrose Kemper, Elissa Crowder as Ermengarde and Martin Brenneman as Rudolph (head waiter).

MARION — Marion Palace Theatre Executive Director Bev Ford announces auditions will be held for two upcoming Palace productions. Director Danielle Knight will hold auditions in the May Pavilion on Saturday, Aug. 22 from 1 to 4 p.m. for the Palace Theatre’s production of “Our Town.”

Melinda Piper, 417 W. North St., reported someone stole her son’s bike from the front porch. Dailyn Campbell, 502 N. Wayne St., reported that someone had stolen his debit card.

Justin Shaner, of Centennial Preservation Group of Columbus, applies caulking to the steps of the Hardin County Courthouse on Wednesday afternoon. The sealing of the steps is expected to be completed next week, Shaner said.

A Kenton woman was sent to prison for nearly seven years after pleading guilty to two felony charges in Hardin County Common Pleas Court. According to court records from Prosecutor Brad Bailey’s office, Amy Lynn Wells, 15308 TR 114, Kenton, was found guilty of one charge each of burglary and receiving stolen property.

COLUMBUS – Four area high school musicians will perform in the All-Ohio State Fair Band during the 2015 Ohio State Fair. They are Sebastian R. Bejarano, trumpet, Hardin Northern; Crystal A. Brown, French horn, Upper Scioto Valley; Daniel I. Johnson, trumpet, Ridgemont and Katelyn M. Shepherd, baritone, Riverdale.

ADA — Ohio Northern University is currently registering organizations, businesses and residents for its third annual Ada Civic Engagement (ACE) Day to be held on Saturday, Aug. 22 from 10 a.m. to noon. A partnership with the village of Ada, the ACE Day program provides opportunities for ONU’s first-year students to not only engage with the community but also contribute to the village’s beautification.
