ADA — Beginning Monday, early morning emergency calls made by Ada residents will be dispatched by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office. According to a press release from Police Chief Michael Harnishfeger, local calls will be handled by the sheriff’s dispatchers between midnight and 8 a.m.

RIDGEWAY — The heavy rains in Ridgeway have caused the ditches of Ridgeway to overflow and have emphasized the drainage problems in the village.

Trent Burbury, Marion, was parked facing south on N. Wayne Street, near the intersection of Columbus Street, making a delivery. Robin Oates, 501 N. Detroit St., was backing from a nearby parking area across N. Wayne Street, just east of Burbury. Oates backed across the street and struck Burbury’s vehicle. She was cited for improper starting/backing.

BELLEFONTAINE — John Krock, 52, of Kenton, was cited for failure to control following a non-injury crash Friday morning involving his semi tractor-trailer that was hauling grain.

A report was received of two vehicles broken into while parked in the rear of 416 N. Main St.

The improvements for the intersection of Ohio 67 and Morningside Drive in Kenton will not be happening in 2017, as the city had hoped. The city had hoped to widen Ohio 67 at the intersection and connect Morningside Drive with Jacob Parrott Blvd., along with other improvements.

Many residents of the county will be able for the first time to purchase flood insurance. According to County Engineer Mike Smith, the county was notified earlier this month it has been accepted to participate in the emergency National Flood Insurance program.

Dola– Jerry McBride’s farm at 11312 County Road 60, Dola, will be the site of a Hardin County Twilight Tour program. This program, focusing on farm solar power, will be held Thursday from 7-8:30 pm.

Friday Ashley Allsup, 826 S. Detroit St., reported that her husband’s vehicle had items stolen from it.
