Bond for former bailiff and probation officer Donald Castle was set at $200,000 Wednesday morning in the Hardin County Common Pleas Court. Castle, 47, is charged with seven counts of rape and two charges of gross sexual imposition in an indictment returned by a Hardin County grand jury last week.

A Kenton man is facing a total of 41 months in prison following his latest conviction on a drug charge, in a case heard in Hardin County Common Pleas Court.

BELLEFONTAINE — The Ohio Hi-Point Career Center Treasurer, Eric Adelsberger, reported to the Ohio Hi-Point Board of Education that the district had a clean audit report in 2014 during a regular scheduled meeting Wednesday evening.

ADA — Ada businesses looking to serve alcohol outside in a café setting may soon be allowed to do so after acquiring a permit from the village. At a street committee meeting following the regular meeting Tuesday night, the Ada Village Council discussed a new proposed policy that would allow for the use of sidewalks by downtown businesses.

The Hardin County Community Foundation approved the awarding of 155 grants totaling $191,000 at its annual and quarterly meetings Tuesday night in Kenton.

Matthew C. Radcliffe Jr., 125 Autumn Haze Lane, was arrested for assault following an investigation of a 911 hang-up at the address.

The Hardin County Engineer’s Office has announced it will be closing two roads. Hale Township Road 169 between Ohio 273 and Logan County Road 40 will be cloased 6-8 weeks for bridge replacement. Starting Thursday, Blanchard Township Road 56 will be closed between Township Roads 165 and 173 for two weeks for road repair.
