ADA — The Ada Village Council approve a bid for the Klingler Road project at a special meeting Tuesday night. Council approved an emergency resolution accepting a $1,318,845.75 bid from Bluffton Paving, Inc. as the lowest and best bid.

After 41 years in law enforcement, Kenton Police Chief John Vermillion will be retiring on May 8. He announced his decision at Monday’s Kenton City Council meeting. “I want to leave while I still enjoy working for the people,” Vermillion told the Times after the meeting.

The Kenton Police Department is moving forward with a plan to enable its officers to carry and use a heroin overdose antidote. Chief John Vermillion told City Council on Monday night he is working with Hardin Memorial Hospital on establishing a policy and training for officers to administer Naloxone, a drug which reverses the effects of opiods
