Ridgemont delays dedication

RIDGEWAY — The planned Aug. 22 dedication of the new Ridgemont preK-12 school is being postponed because work on the building is running slightly behind schedule. However, the 2015-16 school year will open Aug. 24 as planned, said Superintendent Emmy Beeson in comments after Thursday’s school board meeting.

HN third graders are top readers in county

DOLA — With good news in his hand, Superintendent Doug Roberts thanked the Hardin Northern School District for a successful term as its leader. The good news came in the form of a report based on the results of May’s third grade reading test, which showed Hardin Northern, for the second consecutive year, leads the county.

ONU accepting service requests for ACE Day

ADA — Ohio Northern University is currently registering organizations, businesses and residents for its third annual Ada Civic Engagement (ACE) Day to be held on Saturday, Aug. 22 from 10 a.m. to noon. A partnership with the village of Ada, the ACE Day program provides opportunities for ONU’s first-year students to not only engage with the community but also contribute to the village’s beautification.
