Kenton tennis team finishes its season at sectional tournament

LIMA — The Kenton tennis team finished its season during the opening day of the Division II sectional tournament at the University of Northwestern Ohio. Taj Chahal, Rylee Messenger and Cameron Zickafoose all went 1-1 in singles play while the doubles teams of Ian Lyons/Rocco Longbrake and Landon Rush/Hayden Robinson were 0-1 in opening round matches.

Graphic Packaging seeks people willing to learn to fill additional job opportunities

New client

The facility at Graphic Packaging has expanded and so is its list of clients in recent months. The addition of products for Dunkin' Donuts has made it necessary to hire an additional 75 workers at the Kenton plant. With more than 700 employees, Graphic Packaging is the largest employer in Kenton and second only to Ohio Northern University in Hardin County.

The Kenton OHP FFA enjoyed a busy, yet fun, two days while at the Ohio FFA Convention on May 2 and 3. Starting their first day off with the opening session of the convention, the members that attended were able to enjoy opening ceremonies and a powerful message delivered by Chris Koch. Chris Koch is a Canadian speaker, who travels around the world to deliver his “If I Can” message.

Hardin Hills tries new aides to help with staffing concerns

Working at Hardin Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center in Kenton often presents an opportunity for someone to get started in the nursing profession and, in many instances, stay at the nursing home throughout their career. But for others, starting out as a State Tested Nursing Aide (STNA) is a difficult job at the bottom of the pay scale. That has prompted Hardin Hills Director Sharon Huston to take a look at the position from a different angle.
