MOUNT VICTORY — Ridgemont High School is taking a record number of students to the Ohio FFA Convention which started today in Coumbus. During the convention, which runs through Friday, State Degrees will be awarded to Journee Roeder, Madisen Jolliff, Mekenzie Jolliff, Mara France, Kylie Turner, Cole McKinley, Cameron Lowery, Levi Beiler and Rachael Stacklin.

ADA — The Kenton boys and girls track teams claimed first place finishes at the Hardin County Track Meet on Tuesday night at War Memorial Stadium in Ada. Hannah Holland won two individual events and was part of two winning relays to lead the way as the Kenton girls edged Riverdale for the top spot in the girls standings.

Each spring the Hardin County Historical Museum in Kenton becomes a Mecca for cast iron toy collectors throughout the nation. But this year, the toys of the early 20th century will meet the technology of the 21st century as the Kenton Toys become available on Facebook.

ADA — The Ada Kiwanis Club presented its annual $500 donation to the Village of Ada for the town’s tree-planting efforts at the Arbor Day celebration held on Friday morning, April 26 at the Ada Elementary School. In presenting the check to the Ada Tree Commission, Ada Kiwanis President Joe Ferguson said, “It has been the privilege of the Ada Kiwanis Club to make this annual presentation for the past 39 years.”

BELLEFONTAINE — Grace Deardurff struck out 11 batters in throwing a two-hit shutout and Olivia Roose had a two-run home run to lead Ben Logan to a 16-0 Central Buckeye Conference softball win over Urbana on Monday afternoon.

BELLEFONTAINE — Cole Jones’ RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning lifted Ben Logan to a 7-6 victory over Urbana in a Central Buckeye Conference baseball game on Monday afternoon. The Raiders trailed 4-2 going into the bottom of the third inning before plating two runs to tie the game, then taking the lead with single runs in the fourth and sixth innings.

There were 23 youth from across Hardin County who participated in the Kenton Elks Lodge annual Soccer Shoot on Sunday. The contest is a goal-kicking accuracy contest for ages 4-13.
