ADA — With more than $1 million of new revenue set to be generated for each phase of the Hardin Solar Energy project, no one’s taxes will be increased, according to Invenergy’s Gabe Klooster.

A truck accident on Ohio 53, south of Grant, knocked out 9-1-1 service to the sheriff's office and Kenton Police Department early this morning. Sheriff Keith Everhart said this morning callers with emergency calls were being advised to call the Ada Police Department, who then relayed the information via radio to the sheriff dispatchers.

A group of Kenton Elementary students have been honored with the October Leadership Award. It is based on students displaying attributes that include The 7 Habits as well as virtues such as Citizenship, Respect, Responsibility, Empathy, Caring, Teamwork, Fairness, Honesty, Cooperation, Integrity, and Perseverance.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Lexa Kessler loves county fairs. When she was a young girl showing hogs at the Hancock County Fair, Kessler fell in love with the atmosphere and the food of the annual community gatherings, but she said over the years she has grown to appreciate more all the work it takes behind the scenes to put on a fair each summer.

Many area women participated in the Women's Health and Fitness Fest in downtown Kenton on Saturday.

Nearly eight years ago, the members of the Only Believe Church in Kenton purchased four acres of land from the Kenton Little League Association. After securing all the necessary permits, the church broke ground Sunday afternoon at the site, located on the east and north corner of the land.

Joe Carl, aka Santa Claus, leads members of the Trespassers motorcycle group in a morning ride through Hardin County for its first toy drive. In addition to paying to be a part of the pack, the members raised money for Helping Hands Outreach’s annual Christmas drive through raffles and auctions at Henry’s Restaurant in Kenton.
