WAYNESFIELD — Three occupants from a vehicle involved in a two-vehicle crash were transported to a Lima hospital for non-life threatening injuries on Saturday afternoon. The accident occurred in the 16,000 block of Ohio 117, Waynesfield and was reported to the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office at 2:55 p.m.

The Second Farm White Sox finished the season undefeated securing first place by going 3-0 in the tournament. They started 5-0 in the season-opening tournament and then went 15-0 during the regular season before winning the end of the year tournament.

FOREST — The Forest Tree Town Festival, which will run July 6-8 at Gormley Park, will honor one of its most valued neighbors. Clayton Bash was named the grand marshal of the festival for 2018. His family farm abuts the village’s Gormley Park to the east and he has been a part of the Forest community his entire life.

Each day, there are about 20 veterans who commit suicide. Thanks to a craft and vendor fair on June 23, the Hardin County Blue Star Mothers raised $675 to go toward veteran suicide prevention. Kathy Tracy, president of the Blue Star Mothers, said each year she has a “president’s project,” picking out a 501(c)(3) they would like to contribute to or do something for.

Benjamin Logan FFA officers recently attended the Ohio FFA Camp Muskingum in Carrollton, Ohio for a joint venture of Ohio Leadership Camp and Officer Retreat.

DUNKIRK — With upgrades made to the roof and kitchen floor at Dunkirk’s Hardin Northern Community Center (HNCC), the Quilt Squares, a local quilting club, is aiming to raise funds for the projects. According to HNCC member Gregg King, the building has been recently fitted with two new roofs and one repaired roof, and also had a new floor put in the kitchen area.

Riverdale White defeated the Dunkirk Bears 6-3 on Wednesday at Gormley Park in Forest to be crowned the Hancock County Junior Pony League 2018 B Tournament champions. Riverdale’s record on the season was 8-8-1.

Residents at Hardin Hills Health and Rehab Center enjoyed a trip to Ada to Viva Maria Restaurant. Residents chose which place they would like to visit and they selected Ada and Italian food.

The Lending Library at Matthew Ward Park, 707 N. Ida St., Kenton is up and ready to use. Members of the Aktion Club thanked New Hope Ministry Park for giving them the box plus putting it up.
