The Hardin County Golf Foundation’s 14th annual Memorial Tournament was held Saturday at Veteran’s Memorial Park Golf Club. There were 23 teams that took part in the event honoring Harry Bailey, David Deever and Tony Sprang.

The Trophy Bassmasters held their fifth club tournament of the season at Lake Loramie this past weekend. Sixteen anglers competed during the 8-hour day, tallying 34 keeper bass of at least 12 inches totaling 52.05 pounds. All the bass were released.

A few years ago, Eugene “Sonny” Ward was forced to leave his job and go on disability. He needed another source of income to support himself, his wife and their two daughters, but instead of working at a fast-food restaurant, Ward decided to become a beekeeper.

DOLA — Hardin Northern held its spring sports awards program on Thursday night recognizing the achievements of its baseball, softball and track athletes.

The streets of Mount Victory will be filled on Monday, Memorial Day, with antique cars, car enthusiasts and shoppers for the 35th annual Mount Victory Antique Car Show and Petroliana Swap Meet.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Zupanic Award is presented each year to state’s top engineering and technology project by the State Engineering and Technology Showcase. It is awarded to the project selected as best of show during the professional organization’s annual gathering.
