TIFFIN — By clearing 5-0 in the high jump during Day 1 of the Division III regional track meet in Tiffin on Wednesday, Megan Carey added another event to her state meet resumé. Carey, a senior from Upper Scioto Valley, placed fourth among the girl high jumpers, sealing a bid to compete at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in Columbus next weekend.

FINDLAY — Tinora’s Aubrey Reineke and the Rams put an end to Ada’s softball season on Wednesday night. With the game tied 2-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning, Reineke laced a run-scoring single to the wall near the right field foul pole to lift the Rams to a 3-2 regional semifinal victory over the Bulldogs at the Marathon Diamonds.

Residents had a water fight during National Nursing Home Week at Hardin Hills Health and Rehab Center. They had a Hawaiian themed day, they went and ate fresh fruit on the patio and the water guns came out and they had so much fun drenching the activity staff.

Kenton Nursing and Rehab Center, LLC celebrated National Skilled Nursing Care Week with activities for residents and staff. A Mother’s Day open house was hosted on Monday.

Noah Mattson, Ada FFA president, recently received the State Degree during the State FFA Convention in Columbus. The degree is based on evaluating the top students in Ohio and their involvement in chapter, district, state, and national activities.

With the Hardin County YMCA pool closed for repair to its roof, sprinkler and HVAC system, a new location was needed for the young people who were planning on taking summer swimming lessons in Kenton. Frank Marsico, Y program coordinator, had only to look across the parking lot for a solution to the dilemma.

The Kenton Fire Department and BKP Ambulance Service were named Lima Memorial Hospital’s Departments of the Year at the hospital’s annual ceremonies Monday night.

ADA — The Village of Ada, Ohio Northern University and numerous contributors have partnered to honor Union veterans of the Civil War on Memorial Day, May 28 at 10 a.m.

Village Pantry of Kenton Manager Mike Schlegel arranged to donate 75 cases of water to the Kenton Little League to assist with the Healthy Eating campaign of the ballpark.
